CNOOC explores the mystery of "Daqing on the sea" how to push deeper into the South China Sea

the sea in the depths of the sea is blue, and there is an obvious skyline when it is sunny. If there is storm and storm, the sea and sky are the same, and who can tell whether it is cloud or sea? When he landed on the "South China Sea challenge" oil production platform in the depths of the South China Sea by taking a new wide body helicopter in red overalls, the clear sky was far behind him, and clouds rose and flew around him. He saw a five-star red flag on the oil production platform breaking through the clouds and flying in the wind, like a fire on the vast sea

this is the first stop of this trip to investigate CNOOC in the depths of the South China Sea. When the helicopter took off from the special heliport in Shenzhen, it felt that the mysterious veil of CNOOC, which had long been hidden in front of it, was being lifted layer by layer

"Daqing on the sea" - a "cash cow on the sea" with high input and high output

the sea and sky are vast, and the sea is the "Hometown" of CNOOC. For China's oil industry, offshore oil belongs to the "new generation", which is the fastest growing wing of China's oil industry in more than 20 years

in today's China, when it comes to "offshore oil", China National Offshore Oil Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "CNOOC", whose headquarters is located in the northwest corner of Chaoyang menqiao, Beijing - a slightly light green building with novel shape) can almost replace each other, because the industry in this field is basically controlled by "CNOOC"

offshore oil has a very high input and output. It is easy to invest more than 1billion to build an offshore oil production platform. In addition, there will be small changes in the size of aviation, ports and ships, and the overall support of the ship system. At present, this is not the place where private entrepreneurs can go in and out. Entering the headquarters of "CNOOC", the tall space there clearly conveys a grand national style

on the morning of the interview, after a brief introduction by LV Bo, the deputy general manager and spokesman of the company, Wu wenlai, the director of the office, provided the following data:

this year, CNOOC will realize its long cherished wish of producing 50million tons of oil annually and building a "offshore Daqing". This output is equivalent to 1/4 of China's current annual oil output

in the 28 years since its establishment, CNOOC has established 77 oil and gas fields, with an oil and gas output of 39.25 million tons of oil equivalent in 2009. It can be seen that this year's production target has leapt a big step forward. According to the 2008 report of the Ministry of land and resources, China's offshore oil-bearing basins cover an area of about 1.6 million square kilometers, with 39 billion tons of oil and gas geological resources. This is the main area of CNOOC's future development

in the past five years, CNOOC's oil and gas production has increased by 5.7% annually, its total assets have increased by 29% annually, and the tax paid has increased by 29.5% annually. Measured by total assets and net assets, it is equivalent to rebuilding three CNOOC in five years. CNOOC has been firmly listed in the "global top 500 enterprises" and has risen from 318th last year to 252th this year. The top 500 are ranked by revenue. If the top 500 are ranked by net profit, CNOOC will rise to No. 96. If the profit margin is sorted by dividing net profit by revenue, CNOOC will rise to No. 63. This shows the profitability of CNOOC

BusinessWeek of the United States has another evaluation system. In 2009, it selected the 40 best enterprises in the world, and CNOOC ranked 16th. It is the only enterprise on the list in Chinese Mainland

what is the concept of an annual output of 50million tons of oil? As a simple calculation, 60000 employees of the company produce more than 800 tons of crude oil per person per year. Compared with PetroChina (1.6 million employees) and Sinopec (nearly 1million employees), the number of employees of CNOOC is only a fraction of the former

from the perspective of high technology and high investment, at the current level, the cost of offshore drilling is about 10000 yuan per meter, the cost of offshore steel structure platform is as high as 20000 US dollars per square meter, the total investment in building a medium-sized offshore oil field is more than 600million US dollars, and the total investment in a large oil field is a few billion US dollars

in terms of production life, the onshore oil field can continue to produce for several years through water drive, polymer drive and other modes in the late stage of development, and even continue to exploit after temporarily shutting in the well and waiting for the formation pressure to recover and the oil price to rise. At present, it is difficult for offshore oil fields to take the above measures, and the production life is relatively short

despite this, the rich reserves of offshore oil fields are attractive. Since 1990, half of China's oil production increment has come from offshore oil fields. In the 21st century, this trend is more obvious

independent repair of Liuhua oil field -- a classic story of CNOOC

the helicopter takeoff and landing airport in Shenzhen mainly serves CNOOC. Operators on oil production platforms and floating production and storage units (FPSOs, usually refitted by tens of thousands of ton oil tankers) in the deep sea mainly take helicopters to and from their posts, and one-way flight is often more than one hour

the offshore platform visited is called "Liuhua Oilfield", which began exploration in the early 1980s, was constructed a few years later, and was put into operation in 1996. The average water depth here is 305 meters, which is composed of an oil production platform - Nanhai challenge, an FPSO - Nanhai victory, and an underwater wellhead system

the oil production platform is no bigger than a grain of rice in the vast sea. Once something happens, it will naturally feel like it should not be done every day. However, the cost of the platform is very high. In terms of the "South China Sea challenge" oil production platform and the "South China Sea victory" FPSO, the construction investment in that year reached US $800million. When the operator on the platform presses the button with his finger, the instantaneous production and operation consumption may be more than 10000 yuan. Therefore, no mistake is allowed on the platform

the safety education in CNOOC production base and site is very strict. The first thing to do is to listen to the "safety precautions" and change the corresponding work clothes

Liuhua oilfield produces about 20000 barrels of crude oil per day. In the year when it was put into operation, it was well-known at sea for its seven world-class technologies, known as "the Pearl on the crown of international offshore oil". To put it simply, this is a major offshore oil field and a huge "offshore cash cow"

in the conference room on the oil production platform, the representative of the branch company narrated the classic story here through video

on May 17, 2006, 10 years after Liuhua oilfield was put into operation, typhoon "Pearl" reached the eastern waters of the South China Sea, and suddenly turned at a right angle. The central front hit, and the strength of the central wind reached the level of once-in-a-century, which exceeded the design typhoon resistance of the platform

CNOOC immediately withdrew offshore production personnel according to the plan. Before the typhoon arrived, all facilities on the platform were closed and all personnel were evacuated by helicopter. This is the concept of CNOOC's safe production. Human safety comes first, and no matter how big other losses are, they can be made up. This is a lesson learned by CNOOC since the "Bohai 2" shipwreck

after the typhoon, CNOOC immediately sent personnel to conduct a comprehensive inspection of Liuhua oilfield and found that the oilfield had been seriously damaged. Seven anchor chains and three hoses of the Nanhai Shengli, which was storing and unloading crude oil, were broken by the typhoon. The 50000 ton "big man" was moored by only three remaining anchor chains, and it was also loaded with 260000 barrels of crude oil and 70000 barrels of slop oil. If it gets out of control, it will be like a powerful bomb cruising in the South China Sea. Once the explosion, not only the whole ship will be damaged, but also it will inevitably cause a serious marine oil spill, which will become a major disaster that shocked the world

the oil production platform was also seriously injured, most of the anchor chains were broken, and the platform was in danger of overturning. Under such circumstances, the oil field was forced to stop production

the oil field lost 20000 barrels of crude oil a day after it was shut down. According to the oil price at that time, the daily loss was more than 10million yuan

CNOOC urgently implemented the relief plan. First, it towed the "Nanhai victory" in the shape of a giant ship to a safe sea area, and at the same time, it asked the original designer of the platform with top marine deepwater engineering technology for help to repair the platform. Unexpectedly, repair 2 Sample data: provide users of electronic tensile testing machine to set all sample data. The difficulty of re engineering scared the original design company. The other party refused to take over at first, but later reluctantly said that if he took over, he could not guarantee the time, progress and project quality. And once you find yourself unable to do it, you can withdraw with only two weeks' notice

it is really difficult to repair the project. Most of the work of fishing, repairing and rewiring broken anchor chains and hoses must be carried out 300 meters underwater, and the fishing of seven anchor chains and 13.5-inch hoses has no precedent in the history of world ocean engineering

if Liuhua oilfield is abandoned, the loss will be too great. CNOOC decided to repair the offshore platform and "victory in the South China Sea" by itself

since June 2006, CNOOC has comprehensively integrated resources and formed an engineering team composed of more than 20 state-owned enterprises, foreign enterprises and private companies. It will promote the market scope of battery materials to reach US $30billion. First of all, a heavy lifting engineering operation ship will be successfully refitted, which is specialized in fishing and repairing anchor chains and hoses, and fishing 13.5-inch hoses from 300 meters of water depth for repair. The successful refitting of this engineering ship has raised the repair capacity of CNOOC's marine facilities to a new level

after 1 year and 3 days of self repair project, CNOOC initially has a set of maintenance technology applied to deepwater offshore engineering, and has established a team to master deepwater offshore engineering technology and equipment operation skills. First of all, there is a health, safety and environmental protection accident in the laboratory environment. This series of design concepts and implementation effects are better than foreign technologies, which is an international initiative, and has surprised the world's offshore oil industry

On August 29, 2007, CNOOC announced that after more than two months of trial production, Liuhua oilfield successfully resumed production one year ahead of schedule, which increased CNOOC's revenue by about 4billion yuan and crude oil production by 1.2 million tons that year. The experience of this restoration project is of great significance for CNOOC to accelerate the development of deepwater energy and enter the international deepwater market in the future
